Noncommutative Geometry Seminar - Joseph Migler
Title: Determinants in K-theory and operator algebrasSpeaker: Joseph Migler (OSU)Abstract: A determinant in algebraic K-theory is associated to any two Fredholm operators that commute modulo the trace ideal. One can also calculate a homological invariant known as joint torsion. In this talk I will discuss recent work on these invariants and some applications.
