I shall start with some basic facts about the metaplectic group, the metaplectic analog to parabolic induction and to Whittaker functionals. Then I will discuss uniqueness of the Whittaker model for the metaplectic group.
I will introduce the notion of the local coefficients and talk about their computation in the case of genuine principal series representations. As we shall see, there are some phenomena that have no analog in the algebraic groups. In the general case, I will explain how these local coefficients determine the commuting algebra of a parabolic induction and show a certain connection with representation theory of an orthogonal group.
If time will permit I will talk about the definition of the Local factors via the local coefficients.
