Title: Asymptotics of Toeplitz determinantsSpeaker: Joseph Migler (Ohio State University)Abstract: A Toeplitz matrix is a square matrix with constant diagonal entries. Understanding the asymptotic behavior of their determinants is of interest for example in operator theory, random matrix theory, and statistical mechanics. In this talk I will discuss work on applying the Fredholm determinant and K-theory invariants to the asymptotics of such determinants.
