Quantum Algebra & Quantum Topology Seminar - James Tener
Title: Construction of Segal CFTsSpeaker: James Tener (University of California Santa Barbara)Abstract: The category of representations of a two-dimensional (rational, chiral) conformal field theory is a modular tensor category (MTC). One question motivating ongoing research is that of how much more information a conformal field theory contains beyond its representation category. In this talk, I will explain Graeme Segal's definition of a conformal field theory, and how this can be regarded as a MTC with extra structure. I will also discuss joint work in progress with Andre Henriques to construct unitary Segal CFTs using operator algebraic methods.Seminar URL: http://yutsumura.com/quantum-algebra-topology-seminar/
