What is...? Seminar - Dennis Sweeney
Title: What is the isoperimetric inequality?
Speaker: Dennis Sweeney (Ohio State University)
Abstract: The isoperimetric inequality states the intuitive fact that, among all surfaces with a given area, a sphere encloses the maximum volume. In this talk, we will explore a proof of this fact in $n$-dimensional Euclidean space via a proof of the Brunn–Minkowski theorem.
