Professor Nimish A. Shah has been selected as a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society (AMS) for 2017. The Fellows program of the AMS recognizes mathematicians who have made outstanding contributions to the creation, exposition, advancement, communication, or utilization of mathematics. Professor Shah received this honor based on contributions to ergodic theory and homogeneous dynamics and applications to number theory. AMS Fellows are recognized at the annual Joint Mathematical Meetings in January, held this year in Atlanta, Georgia.
