Title:  Effective Constructions in Algebraic Topology

Abstract:  For the incorporation of ideas from algebraic topology in contexts such as TDA and lattice TQFT, one needs concrete constructions of concepts defined only abstractly or axiomatically. In this talk, I will discuss effective constructions of finer structures derived from the cup product on the cohomology of spaces. Together with unlocking finer cohomological structure, like Steenrod's operations, these effective constructions reveal combinatorial information that, as we will see, is connected to convex geometry and higher category theory.
