Vice President and Chief Actuary of Grange Insurance
Phil Baum holds a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from The Ohio State University. He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
Phil has 35 years of experience in the financial services industry with a heavy insurance focus. He currently serves as Vice President, Chief Actuary of Grange Insurance and is responsible for ensuring objective and timely actuarial analysis and reporting for the organization. Prior to joining Grange, Phil spent 19 years at Nationwide Insurance in various leadership roles in Pricing, Research and Risk Management within their Property Casualty Insurance and Bank divisions.
Phil has served in various industry boards and panels. He has also been an active member of several non-profit organizations and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Star House a social service agency that serves homeless youth in Central Ohio.
Phil resides in Grove City with his wife Teri. They have five children, two of which are graduates of The Ohio State University and two others who are currently there pursuing undergraduate degrees.
