College of Education and Human Ecology

Students receiving a Bachelor's of Arts in Public Affairs from the College of Education and Human Ecology must fulfill the General Education Math Requirements.

The following majors must fulfill the two following categories. The General Education Math requirements and the math requirements for each major can be found below.

General Education Math Requirements

Basic Computation Skills 

The goal of courses in this category is to develop skills in quantitative literacy and logical reasoning, including the ability to identify valid arguments, use mathematical models, and draw conclusions and critically evaluate results based on data.

Complete one of the following:

  • Math 1125 Mathematics for Elementary School Teachers I
  • Math 1130 College Algebra for Business
  • Math 1135 Number and Operations for Teachers
  • Math 1148 College Algebra
  • Math Placement Test score M or L

Mathematical and Logical Analysis

The goal of courses in this category is to develop skills in quantitative literacy and logical reasoning, including the ability to identify valid arguments, use mathematical models, and draw conclusions and critically evaluate results based on data.
