Students that have taken AP and/or IB exams in high school may be eligible for credit at OSU. Listed below is the credit that is awarded for each exam depending on the score received. Students may also wish to review what courses they are permitted to enroll in based on the scores they have received. We encourage students to attend the Orientation Math Advising session to determine calculus options and honors opportunities with a math faculty member.

Students who receive Advanced Placement scores of AB 1, AB 2, BC 1, BC 2, IB HL1, IB HL2 and IB HL3 must schedule in accordance with their placement results. If they want an opportunity to move ahead they must take proficiency tests (find more information at orientation, or at Autumn Math Proficiency Exams).

Students who receive Advanced Placement scores of AB 3 are strongly encouraged to enroll in Math 1151 (Calculus I) and do not need special permission from a math advisor to do so.
