The College of Food, Agriculture and Environmental Sciences requires Math 1130 College Algebra for Business or Math 1148 College Algebra for all major programs. In practice, however, many Agriculture majors will need Math 1148 College Algebra as a prerequisite to physics and other courses. An approved data analysis class is also required in each program. Students who do not enter OSU with appropriate transfer credit, AP or IB credit, then they must take a math course their first term at OSU.
Important note- the College of Food, Agriculture and Environmental Sciences will not accept Math 1116 Excursions in Mathematics as a substitute for Math 1130 College Algebra for Business or Math 1148 College Algebra. Students who have completed Math 1116 Excursions in Mathematics and switch to Agriculture will have to take an additional course.
