Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Permission to Add a Math Course

Students may wish to add a Math course that requires permission. The Department of Mathematics has different procedures depending on the reason that permission is required.

Visiting Students and Non-Degree Seeking Students

Students enrolled at OSU not pursuing a degree wishing to enroll in a math course should visit Visiting Students for instructions to enroll in math courses.

Students requesting permission to add a math course for any other reason must request permission from the Math Advising Office.

  • Students may request permission to add a course by emailing the Math Advising Office or in person during Walk-in hours.
  • Students that request permission to add a course for nontraditional reasons may be requested to file a Math Registration Petition. Students should first discuss their situation with the Math Advising Office.
