Title: Arithmetic regularity for VC-sets in finite groups
Speaker: Gabe Conant (Notre Dame)
Abstract: I will talk about joint work with A. Pillay and C. Terry on arithmetic regularity (a group theoretic analogue of Szemeredi regularity for graphs) for sets of bounded Vapnik-Chervonenkis dimension in finite groups. Our proofs are model theoretic, and require the "local" theory of NIP formulas in pseudofinite groups.
