Noncommutative Geometry Seminar - Colleen Delaney
Title: Hopf algebras in quantum field theory and non-commutative geometry
Speaker: Colleen Delaney (UC Santa Barbara)
Abstract: Combinatorial Hopf algebras of diagrams play a meaningful role in quantum field theory, where they encode an algebraic theory of renormalization. These Hopf algebras are in turn related to one of the Connes-Moscovici Hopf algebras studied in the context of non-commutative geometry. In this talk I'll introduce these Hopf algebras, describe their relationships to one another, and give a sense of their applications.
