Title: Categorifying Persistent Homology

Speaker: Ruian Chen - The Ohio State University

Abstract: This expository talk will introduce the categorical approach to persistent homology. Following Bubenik–Scott, we redevelop the structure theorem and stability in persistent homology. In particular, we will construct the category of interleavings, investigate its abelian structure, and deduce further stability theorems.
