The Actuarial Club at Ohio State (ACOS) is open to all Ohio State students. We primarily focus on helping students gain the skills necessary to be successful in a career as an actuary. We currently have around 300 members in our club, and we are always welcoming new students!
One of our main programs that we hosted in the fall was our company presentations. Every year, ACOS brings in about 35 different companies that showcase their available job and internship opportunities. They come to specifically recruit Ohio State students, and it is a great opportunity that we provide to our members. This year we were still able to hold all of our presentations, just in a new virtual setting.
One of our newest and most successful programs this semester was our mentorship program. Through this program, we were able to pair upperclassmen actuarial club students with underclassmen students. It was a six week program where each pair of students was able to meet at a time most convenient to them. With this unpredictable and virtual semester, we really wanted to focus on connecting our members with each other. Our inaugural mentorship program proved to do just that, and with its success we hope to continue this program for years to come!
