Georgia State University-Master of Actuarial Science


The RMI (Risk Management and Insurance) Department was begun in 1953, which makes us one of the oldest departments within the United States. At the department’s beginning in the 1950s, it was determined that Actuarial Science was a business discipline and therefore should be housed within a business college. While many other actuarial science departments are located within mathematics departments, having the as program part of the Robinson College of Business trains graduates not only to serve as actuaries, but also to take on senior roles in corporations. Georgia State University-Master of Science in Mathematical Risk Management


The mission of the Specialization in Mathematical Risk Management is to provide students with a solid understanding of the application of mathematics in economics and finance to address contemporary risk management issues. Emphasis is placed on the diagnosis, analysis, pricing, and customization of solutions to risk management problems, broadly defined to include both financial and operational risk exposures. The program is designed to prepare students for analytical and technical positions within financial institutions, risk management advisory organizations, and the treasury departments of non-financial corporations. Quantitative in focus, the program is well-suited for students with undergraduate and graduate degrees in mathematics, statistics, or similar technical disciplines. University of Colorado Boulder-Quantitative Biology Graduate Program

University of Georgia Mathematics Graduate Programs


The Department of Mathematics currently has 33 faculty members plus 14 postdocs who actively work on Algebra, Algebraic Geometry, Analysis, Applied Math (Numerical Analysis, Bio-Math, and Math Finance), Geometry, Number Theory, and Topology. There are 49 graduate students in various degree programs. Most of them are in the Ph.D. program. The department offers a Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Arts, and a Master of Applied Mathematical Sciences. Vanderbilt University-Graduate Program in Biostatistics


The Graduate Program in Biostatistics at Vanderbilt University is seeking qualitatively oriented undergraduates majoring in statistics, mathematics, or computer science who have an interest in pursuing a graduate degree in Biostatistics.
