Title: Effective Chabauty--Kim

Speaker: Netan Dogra - University of Oxford

Abstract: The Chabauty--Kim method is a non-abelian generalization of the Chabauty--Coleman approach to bounding the number of rational points on curves via p-adic integrals. In this talk I will survey the Chabauty--Coleman--Kim strategy, and then explain recent joint work with Alex Betts relating Kim's work to harmonic analysis on metrized graphs, and its applications to making Chabauty--Kim effective.
