Title:  The arithmetic of the norm one torus

Speaker:  Nick Rome (TU Graz)

Abstract:  Given a finite extension of number fields K/Q, the associated field norm can be used to define an affine variety given by the equation Norm_{K/Q}(x)=1. We will discuss the qualitative distribution of rational points on this variety, and how this distributions changes as one varies the field K.
