Graduate Student Seminar - Benjamin Call
Speaker: Benjamin Call - OSU
Title: Thermodynamic Formalism and Ergodic Theory
Abstract: What is the entropy of a dynamical system, and what can it tell us? He will answer this question and explore some of the applications of this concept in dynamical systems. In particular, he will define what an equilibrium state is and show why we should care about it. Absolutely no knowledge of physics is necessary for the talk, in spite of what the title or abstract may imply.
