Title: Classifying spaces of projective linear groups

Speaker: Alexander Rolle (Western Ontario)

Abstract: Given an algebraic group G, if one can calculate the Chow groups of the classifying space of G, then one gets universal characteristic classes for G-torsors. In this talk, I'll introduce a couple of notions of classifying space in the context of motivic homotopy theory, and I'll describe the relationship between the Chow groups of the étale classifying spaces of projective linear groups and the Chow groups of the Nisnevich classifying spaces.
