Title: The Dynamics of Biological Competition
Speaker: Adrian Lam (Ohio State University)
Abstract: In this talk I will survey the mathematical aspect of competition models, (possible) topics includes (i) Competition systems in ordered Banach space; (ii) the evolution of random dispersal; (iii) competition for light between two phytoplankton species; (iv) competition between macrophages and bacteria in a free-boundary model of granuloma; (v) competition between infinitely many species and a class of Hamilton-Jacobi equations with non-negativity constraint.
