Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places.  Title:  From local triviality to global triviality

Speaker:  Xianhui Fu (Northeast Normal University, Changchun, China)

Abstract:  Let A be an exact category, and λ a limit ordinal. In this talk, I will show how to prove a conflation of λ-directed systems in the category (λ, A) of λ-directed systems with each level a trivial conflation in Α is still trivial under some mild conditions and present some applications of this result. The proof is based on a technique which we call adjustment of splittings. This talk is based on joint work with Estrada, Herzog, and Odabaşi.
