Title
Survival and phase transition of SIRS process on networks
Abstract
The SIRS (Susceptible-Infectious-Recovered-Susceptible) process is a continuous-time Markov chain that models the spread of infection in populations. Its survival time, i.e. the time it takes until no vertices are infected, is of great interest and has been studied extensively. While there is a well-developed theory for the more amenable SIS (Susceptible–Infectious–Susceptible) process, the literature on SIRS is much more scant. In this talk, we will review the SIS and SIRS models and existing results, key difficulties of the SIRS model, and present our results on its survival time on star graphs, configuration models, and infinite trees. This is based on joint work with O. Nguyen and I. Yang.
