Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. Title: What is Quantum Mechanics?

Speaker: Ishaan Shah (Ohio State University)

Abstract: We will explore Quantum Mechanics in the case where the observables in question only have a finite set of values. This will allow us to understand how Quantum Mechanics is probabilistic information, has superposition states, and what the uncertainty principle is without using Hilbert Spaces. Time permitting, we will also explore Spin, Bell’s inequality, symmetry, and the Harmonic Oscillator.
