Congratulations to the OSU Cycle Mentoring Program who won the Graduate Student Award for Diversity Enhancement. Cycle is a community of undergraduate and graduate students in the Department of Mathematics who are dedicated to fostering a more inclusive, diverse, and equitable undergraduate experience. Cycle provides mentoring for underrepresented first-year mathematics majors and support their transition to college-level study through exposure to research and career opportunities in addition to fostering a supportive and inclusive local network that helps students thrive. Servicing students in this way therefore helps lay the foundation for becoming future researchers and practitioners of mathematics.

The Graduate Student Award for Diversity Enhancement is awarding Cycle for their service to students and for actively promoting diversity and supporting a culture that embraces and exhibits inclusive excellence, community, and openness.

The Cycle Committee (pictured below) consists of Nick Geis, Will Newman, Kacey Aurum, and Torey Hilbert.
