Dr. William (Bill) Husen has been honored as one of only six staff in the OSU College of Arts & Sciences to win a 2018 Outstanding Staff Award.
Marissa Renardy has been selected for a 2018 Outstanding Graduate Student Award for her work developing an OSU chapter of the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM), and making that chapter thrive.
Sergey Fomin of the University of Michigan will present the Spring 2018 Zassenhaus lectures April 16, 17, and 18, 2018. The Zassenhaus Lectures were established to honor the memory of Hans Zassenhaus, who was a member of the department from 1963 until his death in 1991.
The Mathematics department is hosting the AMS Spring Central Sectional Meeting over the weekend of March 17–18.
There are over 40 special sessions, with over 600 speakers. Many of these sessions are organized by local faculty.
Congratulations to Professor Neil Robertson, who has become an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Combinatorics and its Applications (ICA). He is the first Honorary Fellow named since 2010 (the first one to be named was Paul Erdos in 1990).
