Morgan Rudolph
Morgan Rudolph graduated from Ohio State Undergrad in 2025. She graduated with a major in Actuarial Science. She currently works for Aon as a Retirement Actuarial Specialist. Previously, she interned at AON. Feel free to contact her at morgangr1208@gmail.com.
How did you first become interested in actuarial science?
I was always strongest in math but knew I wanted to work with people, and when I discovered actuarial science in high school, I knew that was it!
What did you think about the faculty in the program?
The faculty are incredibly knowledgeable individuals who all have one thing in common: they want you to succeed. Their commitment to helping their students learn and find opportunities to start their careers is second to none.
How were your interactions with other students in the program?
I made many close friends throughout my time in the actuarial science program as we helped each other learn material and bonded over the tough experience of taking exams. I am still friends with and even work with some of them today!
Tell us about your internship experience.
I loved my internship experience at Aon and found myself at a company where I felt valued and could see myself growing quickly. The people, environment, and work were all exactly what I was looking for, so I decided to join them full time after graduating.
What has been your biggest takeaway from the program? Was there any class or skill that stood out? How did the content prepare you for your role?
Being in successful in actuarial science takes more than just mathematical knowledge and technical skills. Those who have strong soft skills, like communication, time management, and creativity, are the people who lead their fields.
How would you describe your work in actuarial science, and what excites you about the field?
I love that I get to solve real problems every day and am consistently challenged with something new. This fields is always expanding and adapting, and I love that I get to learn something new every day.
Can you elaborate on your current role and typical things you encounter on a day to day basis?
In my current role, I work on projects for defined benefit plans, including yearly valuations, benefit calcs, and many unique requests depending on what a client wants to see.
What advice do you have for current and future students?
Work hard, take advantage of any opportunity you can, and still have fun along the way!
