Title: On abelian varieties whose torsion is not self-dual
Speaker: John Voight (Dartmouth)
Abstract: We construct infinitely many abelian surfaces defined over the rational numbers whose ell-torsion is not isomorphic as a Galois module to that of the dual for ell = 2,3,5,7. This is joint work with Sarah Frei and Katrina Honigs.
