Title
Decay in countable groups and amalgamated free products

Abstract
In this talk, I will discuss joint work with Kunnawalkam Elayavalli and Patchell, where we introduce the notion of subexponential decay (SD) for countable groups with respect to a length function, a generalization of Haagerup-Jolissaint's rapid decay property. I will also discuss a new permanence result for delay in amalgamated free products, and demonstrate that it is, in a sense, optimal. The talk will include a few key examples of interest and applications to C*-algebras.
