Title
Counting Conics

Abstract
Enumerative geometry is the study of counting the number of shapes satisfying certain properties. In this talk, we consider the following question from enumerative geometry "For i,j,k \geq 0, what is the number of smooth conics which go through i general points and are tangent to j general lines and k general conics?" (The answer is positive and finite if and only if i+j+k=5.) To answer this question, we will use moduli spaces and intersection theory.
