Grad Student Seminar - Woojin Kim
Title: Rank of a diagram and its application in topological data analysis.
Speaker: Woojin Kim (Ohio State University)
Abstract: Given a linear map $f$ between vector spaces, the rank of $f$ measures the "nondegenerateness" of $f$. Based on a category theoretical perspective, we extend the notion of rank to any (connected) diagram of vector spaces and linear maps. We explore how this generalization can be used in the realm of topological data analysis.
