Title
Ranks for pairs of ordered abelian groups
Abstract
The dp-rank is a general model theoretic rank that interacts well with various other notions of model theoretic "tameness". In this talk I will discuss dp-rank computations for dense pairs of ordered abelian groups. An essential tool for these computations will be several general quantifier elimination results, first for pairs of unordered abelian groups and then for the ordered case. This work is part of a general project, in collaboration with John Goodrick, attempting to analyze tameness properties for low dp-rank expansions of divisible ordered abelian groups. I will explain how this work on pairs of groups fits into that project.
