Title: Weighted graphs as compact quantum metric spaces
Speaker: Michael Hartglass (University of California Riverside)
Abstract: Given a weighted graph, I will describe the "free graph algebra," and corresponding "loop algebras" which has become a very useful tool in understanding interpolated free group factors. This talk will concentrate on a C*-algebra analogue of the loop algebras, where we will show that they can be given the structure of a compact quantum metric space in the sense of Rieffel. I will then detail some precompactness conditions for a family of such algebras. This is joint work with Dave Penneys.
