OSU Mathematics Department alumnus Kelsey Brax has been selected as a 2015 Teaching Fellow by the Knowles Science Teaching Foundation. KSTF Teaching Fellowships are awarded to promising high school mathematics and science teachers beginning their professional careers. The five-year award includes funds for professional development, grants for teaching materials, coaching from experienced teachers, and opportunities for leadership and mentoring.
Kelsey began her first year teaching this fall as a math teacher at Erie High School in Erie, Colorado. Prior to starting her new position, Kelsey was employed during the 2013-14 school year as a Teaching Assistant with the OSU Math Department, tutored other students, and conducted research on teaching mathematical modeling (which has been submitted for publication).
Congratulations Kelsey!
