Vitaly Bergelson Honored at International Conference in Warsaw

Vitaly Bergleson

The Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IM PAN) will host the "Perspectives on Ergodic Theory and its Interactions" conference from June 23 to 27, 2025, in Warsaw, Poland. This event celebrates the influential work of Vitaly Bergelson, Distinguished Professor of Mathematics & Physical Sciences at The Ohio State University.

Professor Bergelson is renowned for his contributions to ergodic theory, Ramsey theory, and combinatorial number theory. His research has significantly advanced the field of "Ergodic Ramsey Theory," building upon Hillel Furstenberg’s proof of Szemerédi’s theorem.

The conference will feature presentations and discussions focusing on the evolving interfaces between ergodic theory, additive combinatorics, and number theory, reflecting Bergelson’s broad impact on the field.
