Title: What is a Fresnel integral?

Abstract: Fresnel integrals are a pair of special functions which have applications in physics. In my talk, I will introduce the ideas of optics that led Fresnel to his discovery of these functions. I will then talk about some of their other applications and their relation to a few other special functions.
